The temptation has been irresistible (we know because we fell for it too) and you have finally made the decision to attend a Candlelight concert. At this point you will have more than clear the magical environment that awaits you, but perhaps some questions are arising. What to wear? What time do the doors open? Is the show safe, despite the thousands of candles? Take note because in this article we clear up all your doubts and tell you the five things you should know. Let’s get to it!
1. The stages are full of history and curiosities.
Whether you have chosen your next Candlelight concert because of the stage where it will take place or not, we recommend you to read about the history and curiosities of the place in order to enrich your experience even more. All Candlelight locations are real gems, unique corners at the level of the Casa de Salinas, the Hospital de los Venerables or the Hotel Alfonso XIII Seville, where some scenes of Lawrence of Arabia and The Crown were filmed.
2. What awaits you at the concert
You will experience it in first person, for now we will summarize it in good live music among thousands of candles. Yes, you read that right, thousands of candles. But don’t worry, at Candlelight there is no chance of getting burned because surprise: all the candles are LED. The flames have been replaced by small bulbs that perfectly mimic the movement and glow of real candles, creating an image that is just as beautiful as it is safe.
3. There are no dress code rules
You shouldn’t wear white to a wedding and you shouldn’t wear a bathing suit to the office. There are places where dress does matter, although this is not exactly the case at Candlelight. Here the choice of your attire is completely free, the most important thing is that you feel good about yourself. Do you feel like wearing your favorite rock band’s t-shirt? Go ahead, you’re thinking of wearing high heels and sequins, great!
4. Arrive on time
Let’s face it, being unpunctual is wrong. This should be more than enough reason to arrive early; however, it’s not the only one. In order not to break the intimate atmosphere and not to disturb the rest of the audience, access is not allowed after the beginning of the concert. Doors usually open between 30 and 60 minutes before, so there are no excuses!
Get well organized, leave home early and don’t miss out on a truly special experience. Also, keep in mind that seats have not been assigned to you with your purchase, you have only reserved them for a specific area. This is because seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, which means the earlier you arrive, the more you have to choose from.
5. The program is tentative
If there’s one thing we love about Candlelight beyond its extensive concert schedule, it’s the repertoires. These may be subject to change, but rest assured that the set lists for each tribute are carefully selected for you to enjoy —for approximately 65 minutes— the best hits of your favorite artist.
We are getting closer to your musical date by candlelight. We hope you have found all this information useful and that, above all, you enjoy your concert.
