Seville is decked out in celebration on the eve of Corpus Christi, although the main day is Thursday, June 4. Since it is a local non-working holiday, many Sevillians will enjoy a four-day weekend, facing the usual holiday question: Which supermarkets and shopping centers are open tomorrow in Seville?
Here’s a quick guide to the hours of the capital’s main stores, in case you haven’t done your shopping before the holiday on Thursday.
Supermarkets that are open (and those that are closed) this Corpus Christi Thursday
El Corte Inglés (Special Hours)
The large stores in Nervión and Plaza del Duque will open their doors this Thursday, June 4, although with reduced hours from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. In contrast, the stores in Sevilla Este and San Juan de Aznalfarache will remain closed.
Dia Supermarkets
It’s one of the most reliable options for tomorrow. The chain will indeed open most of its stores, though hours will vary by location. The most common operating hours for this holiday will be:
- Half-day hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Open from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM or from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM (all day).
MAS Supermarkets
Opinions will vary depending on the area. While some MAS stores will remain closed, those authorized to open on holidays will operate during their usual hours from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Aldi
As a general rule, Aldi is closed in Seville this Thursday. However, there is one key exception right in the city center: the store on Plaza del Duque will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Mercadona, Carrefour, and Lidl are closed
True to its policy of not opening on Sundays or holidays, Mercadona will be closed throughout the city.
Meanwhile, the large Carrefour hypermarkets in Ronda Urbana Norte and José Jesús García Díaz will also be closed. However, some authorized Carrefour Express stores may be open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (or until 2:00 p.m.).
Lidl will join these chains, as its stores in Seville will remain closed tomorrow.
Shopping Malls: Which Stores Are Open?
If you prefer to take advantage of the Corpus Christi holiday to go shopping or enjoy leisure activities, the situation varies by shopping center:
