Flying to Pisa to reach Florence or taking a direct flight from Málaga are viable options for traveling to the cradle of the Renaissance; however, it is now possible to fly nonstop to Florence from Seville.
Volotea has launched a direct route connecting Seville Airport (SVQ) with Florence’s Amerigo Vespucci Airport (FLR), opening a fast and affordable way to travel from southern Spain to Tuscany.
Key details of the new Seville–Florence connection
The route officially launched this September as part of the expansion of European connections originating from Seville.
Introductory fares start at €33 one way, according to the airline’s website. Depending on the season, standard one-way fares typically range from €28 to €50.
The route offers two weekly flights (operating mainly on Mondays and Fridays or Tuesdays and Saturdays, depending on seasonal scheduling adjustments), making it the ideal option for weekend getaways or 4- to 5-day trips.
As for the flight, the direct flight between Seville and Florence takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes. This avoids layovers in Barcelona, Madrid, or Málaga, which could extend the trip to more than 6 hours.
Volotea’s basic fare includes a small carry-on bag that fits under the seat; if you add a carry-on or checked bag, the fee is in line with the airline’s standard rates.
