
May is catching up with the new events that are coming up at the end of spring and in the face of the unstoppable start of summer. Increasingly evening plans, refreshing and outdoors to squeeze the benefits of a lively city like Seville. The Puppet Fair is one of the great cultural events that welcomes this month and opens on May 13.
This 45th edition of the festival will run until May 25 with free plans and popular prices in a very extensive program for the whole family.
Specifically, there will be 35 performances for all audiences of 15 shows. All of them by 17 national and international companies. In addition, there will be an exhibition, two workshops and a conference.
Likewise, the cycles ‘The Theater and the School’ and #TEATReVES (‘The Young and the Theater’) and the Big Bang Festival, make up the main axis of the ICAS program for the creation of new audiences.
The Puppet Fair will be present in different districts of Seville, either in halls of different civic centers or in the street. These spaces join the traditional ones around the city center (Teatro Alameda, Alameda de Hércules, Sala La Fundición, Sala Cero, Centro Cívico Las Sirenas…).

Exhibitions and workshops
An exhibition proposal, two workshops and a conference complete the program of this edition of the Seville Puppet Fair.
At the Centro Cívico Las Sirenas, the exhibition Tras el espejo con Ángel Calvente, dedicated to the work of the Malaga-based company El Espejo Negro over 35 years, will open its doors. Puppets, posters, sketches and audiovisual material collected in this space from May 13 to 25.
On the other hand, two workshops will be held: one for professionals on glove puppetry and another on the creation of sculptures and flying animals.
A conference on new dramaturgies for children and young people, organized by the TIJA Association, is also scheduled for May 14.
Finally, the RITTO conference on the challenges of sustainability in the performing arts will be held on May 20, 21 and 22.
Ticket prices and sales
Although some of the shows and cultural proposals of the Puppet Fair, this ICAS project supported by the Ministry of Culture through INAEM, are free, others have a symbolic price of 5 euros.
They are those shows scheduled at Teatro Alameda, Sala Cero and La Fundición whose tickets can be purchased in advance on the ICAS website or on site one hour before each performance.
