In the never-ending search for beautiful beaches, nearby sandy shores, and natural pools, the province of Seville has something to offer. However, as you head inland from Cádiz, you’ll be amazed by the spectacular Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, which is home to, among other treasures, the Playita de Zahara de la Sierra.
This natural inland beach, popularly known as “la playita,” is located in the Arroyomolinos Recreational Area. Situated in one of the most beautiful little villages in Cádiz, it’s the perfect day trip, just over an hour and twenty minutes from Seville.

One of the great advantages of this spot is that the artificial beach is created right along the river’s course. In other words, the flowing water is constantly refreshed, unlike traditional reservoirs, where mud often detracts from the swimming experience.
The result is clean, crystal-clear water that is noticeably cooler than the sea.
The area breaks away from the typical arid landscape thanks to a vast meadow of natural grass and a dense stand of leafy trees that provide shade throughout the day.
Although the famous high-adventure park El Bosque Suspendido (with its zip lines and suspension bridges) is currently undergoing maintenance, the surroundings remain a stunning attraction for strolling among fruit trees and wild vegetation.
At La Playita, you’ll find:
- Dining. A food truck and a beach bar-restaurant inland (as well as another establishment outside the park) are available to refuel.
- designated picnic areas, restrooms, changing rooms, and a team of lifeguards.
- A monitored parking area is available for leaving your car.

Since it is located within a protected area, daily capacity is strictly limited. To avoid any surprises and ensure you don’t get turned away at the gate, it’s essential to purchase tickets online before setting out on your trip.
