The Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT), within the framework of the new plan to reinforce road safety, has installed a new speed control radar in Seville, in operation since September 1st.
Specifically, up to 122 new control points have been incorporated, 32 of them in the last weeks in different autonomous communities. This is one of the DGT’s speed control tools; seven of them are fixed and 25 are stretches. The brand new one in the province of Seville belongs to the second category and is located on the A-4.
The purpose of both devices is to reduce the number “not only of fatal accidents but also of serious injuries”.
As a preventive measure, the new cinemometers will be announced through variable message panels or, when the road does not have them, with circumstantial vertical signage.
