The Tranvibús construction, the metro work, the projects related to Zaragoza, and those at Plaza Nueva… Seville, from the city center to Sevilla Este, is facing a long period of urban construction projects that are particularly affecting traffic. The latest is the renovation of the water supply and sewer systems being carried out by Emasesa on Trajano Street since October 12.
Until approximately November 2, vehicular traffic will be completely blocked on Trajano Street, on the section between San Miguel and Javier Lasso de la Vega streets.
Affected section and restrictions for residents
The closure of this key thoroughfare in the Old Town extends the previous phases and directly disrupts traffic on adjacent streets:
- San Miguel Street has been designated a dead-end street, with access restricted exclusively to residents and authorized garages.
- Meanwhile, Amor de Dios Street will temporarily have its traffic flow reversed from the usual direction, serving as an alternate route to bypass the construction site.
Mobility Plan: Detours and Recommended Routes
The Seville City Council has designed two main routes to channel vehicle traffic:
- Detour via Javier Lasso de la Vega Street, Aponte Street, and Jesús del Gran Poder Street—this is Route 1, which detours west/north.
- The second route heads south and out of the city center via a detour through Santa María de Gracia, Plaza de la Campana, Plaza del Duque, and Alfonso XII Street.
The November 2 deadline is tentative and will depend on the technical progress of the underground work. Drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution around the temporary signage and to prioritize public transportation.
