With the thermometer reaching 40 °C by the end of the week, according to Aemet forecasts, plans to cool off are becoming urgent. So, although public pools don’t open until mid-June, the Gelves Municipal Water Park kicks off its season this Saturday, May 30, with a water party.
It’s opening earlier than planned and with a program packed with children’s activities and live music. Along with the usual trips to the beach, this is definitely worth considering, especially on opening day.
Water and Flamenco Festival: Schedule for Saturday, May 30
The Gelves City Council has organized a special event to welcome summer early, starting at 1:00 p.m. in the Jardines del Guadalquivir neighborhood.
From 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., there will be a special children’s event featuring relay races, water fights, giant soap bubbles, archery, and musical entertainment.
Meanwhile, at 6:00 p.m., the flamenco afternoon kicks off with a performance by Rosa María at the Kiosko del Agua. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere while having a drink at the bar.
How does the Gelves Water Park work?
This space has become the favorite oasis for families in Seville’s Aljarafe region. Unlike a conventional pool, it is an outdoor leisure area with water jets and interactive features.
The attractions operate with a closed-loop system of continuously purified water. Additionally, the water jets are activated on demand by users at 10-minute intervals.
The facilities feature shaded areas, rest areas, and a snack bar.
It is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. throughout the summer, and access is not permitted with roller skates, scooters, bicycles, or animals (except in the snack bar).
