The first hints of fall don’t make us wonder when the Christmas lights will be turned on in Seville in 2026. The dates in question are already taking shape and, as far as we know, will follow the tradition established in recent years of taking place in late November.
Avenida de la Constitución is packed, with a huge number of cell phones held aloft, ready to snap a photo after the countdown… Families, couples, and visitors are waiting for the moment when Seville’s Christmas season officially kicks off.
The official Christmas lights in Seville are expected to be turned on during the last weekend of the month, specifically either Friday, November 27, or Saturday, November 28, 2026, and the city will remain lit until January 6, 2027 (with takedown beginning on January 7). This was reported by 101tv pending official confirmation from the Seville City Council.
In previous years, this trend of gradually bringing the lighting forward has taken hold: after being postponed to December in 2022 due to energy-saving measures, the lighting ceremony was set for the last weekend of November in 2024 and 2025. This year, 2026, the lights will once again usher in the Christmas spirit before the Immaculate Conception long weekend.
The lighting display and its possible schedules
Hundreds of streets, roundabouts, and avenues throughout the city’s districts will be filled with Christmas lights. Avenida de la Constitución will once again showcase its characteristic light displays and decorative trees, accompanied by Christmas decorations and unique installations in the historic center and other iconic spots around the city.
- Lighting Schedule: The lights are generally expected to remain on from 6:30 p.m. to midnight, with extended hours until 1:00 a.m. on the designated nights of December 24 and 31, 2026, as well as on the night of January 5, 2027.
