The forest fire in Niebla continues to wreak havoc in the town, with some roads still closed to traffic in the province of Huelva.
The spread of the fire, which has already covered more than 8,000 hectares, has led to these closures for safety reasons.
At 10:00 a.m., a meeting was held with the Operations Committee, after which Antonio Sanz, the Regional Minister of the Presidency, Health, and Emergencies for the Regional Government of Andalusia , will address the media.
Road Closures in Huelva
According to Emergencias 112 Andalucía and the General Directorate of Traffic (CGT), the affected roads are the following secondary roads:
- HU-3106, from Niebla to Valverde, between kilometer markers 2.5 and 20.8.
- HU-4103, from La Palma del Condado to Berrocal, from kilometer 0 to 28.8.
- HU-5104, from Zalamea la Real to Berrocal, between kilometer markers 0 and 15.5.
- HU-6107, in Berrocal, from kilometer 0 to 4.3.
Authorities insist that it is prohibited to return to the evacuated areas and urge people to avoid traveling to the affected area.
In fact, entry into the restricted areas is permitted only in justified cases—such as to feed animals or pick up medication—and such entries must be accompanied by the Civil Guard.
