With the eclipse just around the corner and the price of eclipse glasses on the rise, many people are wondering what all the ways are to get ISO 12312-2-certified glasses completely free in Seville.
There’s still stock available, and there are ways to get your own pair without spending a single euro. Here’s a breakdown
ONCE sales locations (Seville and the surrounding province)
The Ministry of Science has launched a massive campaign in partnership with the ONCE Social Group to distribute two million safety glasses.
You can get them for free at any ONCE newsstand or from any ONCE street vendor in Seville city and the municipalities of the province.
Seville municipalities distributing glasses and hosting astronomy events
Several municipalities in the province have organized public events where they’ll be handing out certified glasses to attendees:
- The Gines City Council has organized a public viewing event at the Nuevo San José Municipal Stadium. The glasses will be handed out during the count on the afternoon of August 12, before the phenomenon begins.
- Meanwhile, Huévar del Aljarafe has set up several municipal pickup locations for residents. In addition, they’ll be holding workshops for children and teens where they’ll hand out sunglasses to ensure safe viewing.
