Unique, out-of-print or hard-to-find books, movie posters, posters, manuscripts or other collector’s publications. These and other items and a whole cultural program will meet at the Seville Antiquarian Book Fair, one of the most important old book events in Andalusia, from September 26.
The fair is organized by the Asociación Amigos del Libro Antiguo de Sevilla in collaboration with the Instituto de la Cultura y las Artes de Sevilla (ICAS). This year it celebrates its 48th edition in the Plaza de San Francisco and brings together, until October 19, the most important antiquarian bookstores in the country.
In 2024 the event moved to this new location and it is expected that this edition will gather “a greater number of visitors and a significant improvement in the commercial activity of the participating booksellers”.
Programming of the Antiquarian Book Fair
The Seville Antiquarian and Second-hand Book Fair has the support, as its main sponsor, of the Seville City Council through ICAS, as well as the Seville Provincial Council and the University of Seville, and the collaboration of the Seville Mercantile and Industrial Circle.
This year, this literary event offers twenty exhibitors, who belong to bookstores from different parts of the national territory and institutions such as ICAS, the Seville Provincial Council and the University of Seville Publishing House.
For its 2025 edition it returns to the Plaza de San Francisco. The FLAOS will kick off with its traditional opening speech, which last year was given by Julio Muñoz (‘Rancio’) at the Círculo Mercantil.
Beyond the Fair there will be colloquiums, presentations, conferences and a whole program of parallel activities yet to be revealed.
The curious who venture to rummage and explore the shelves and stalls of the fair did so in the last edition from Monday to Friday from 10:30 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 21:00 hours. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the fair was open from 11:00 to 14:30 and from 17:00 to 21:00.
